Glossary of Terms

A

Apeiron
The boundless, unmanifest potential that is the ground of all existence. From the Greek meaning “without limit.” The void from which all things emerge and to which all things return.

B

Black Code
The ethical framework of the South African Satanic Church. Nine precepts guiding conduct based on individual sovereignty and personal responsibility.

C

Compersion
The joy in another’s joy. The capacity to experience fulfillment from a partner’s experiences with others, without jealousy. Central to our understanding of love.

Crucible
The chosen vessel of intensity where transformation occurs. A place or state where the false self is burned away and the true self emerges.

L

Left-Hand Path
A spiritual tradition that embraces the shadow, the material world, and individual sovereignty. Rejects the denial of the self in favour of self-deification.

N

Nucleation
The moment when potential collapses into form. The quantum moment of transformation where the unlimited becomes limited, the formless takes form.

Q

Qliphoth
The “other side” — the shadow realm of manifestation. In Kabbalistic terms, theTree of Knowledge as opposed to the Tree of Life. Represents the darker aspects of existence that must be integrated, not rejected.

S

Satan
Symbolic figure of rebellion, individual sovereignty, and the refusal to submit. Not a literal being, but an archetype of the liberated self.

S.E.X.
Sacred Energetic eXchange. The highest ritual — the deliberate transmutation of energy through conscious connection. Union of opposites as path to transformation.

Shadow
In Jungian terms, the unconscious aspects of the personality that the conscious mind does not identify with. The Shadow Path teaches integration, not rejection, of these aspects.

Shadow Path
The philosophical tradition of the South African Satanic Church — a non-dual tantrik path that embraces the complete self.

Sovereign Individual
One who takes full responsibility for their own choices, actions, and consequences. Who recognises no external authority over their own conscience and conduct.

T

Two-Fold Flame
The duality of Lucifer (Rebel Flame) and Lucifera (Creatrix). The eternal dance of opposition that creates all manifestation. The masculine and feminine principles in eternal exchange.
